Overview

This Privacy Policy explains how Northstar Sober Living (“we,” “us,” or “our”) handles personal information collected through this website. It covers only this site. It does not govern information you provide to us by phone, in person, or after you enter our program, which may be subject to separate notices and to state and federal recordkeeping requirements.

Who we are

This site is operated by HER HOMES & RENTALS LLC, doing business as Northstar Sober Living, based in Iowa. You can reach us about this policy or your personal information at privacy@northstarsoberliving.com , or by mail at 154 SE Laurel St, Waukee, Iowa, 50263.

Information we collect

We collect only the information you choose to provide and the limited technical information needed to operate and protect this site:

• Contact form submissions. Your full name, email address, phone number, the relationship you select (myself / family member / friend / treatment provider), and the contents of your message.
• Anti-abuse signals. Your IP address, the time you loaded the form, and a token from the Cloudflare Turnstile challenge — used to detect automated submissions and to apply rate limits. Turnstile may set short-lived cookies; see our Cookie Policy.
• Standard server logs. Request metadata such as URL, timestamp, response code, and IP address, collected by our hosting provider (Cloudflare). We do not write the contents of your contact form submission to application logs.

This site does not load analytics or advertising trackers, and we do not knowingly collect more information than is described here.

How we use your information

• To respond to inquiries you send through the contact form.
• To contact you by phone or text message about your inquiry, where you have checked the consent box on the form. You can withdraw that consent at any time by telling us, or by replying STOP to a text message.
• To detect, prevent, and investigate abuse of the contact form (Cloudflare Turnstile, rate limits, and basic spam checks).
• To keep records and to meet our legal, regulatory, and recordkeeping obligations.

Who we share information with

We share contact-form submissions only with the parties needed to operate this site and to respond to your inquiry:

• Cloudflare — our hosting and security provider (content delivery, Turnstile, web application firewall, and edge functions).
• Our customer-relationship-management provider (LucidSerum) — receives validated form submissions so our admissions team can follow up with you.
• Other service providers acting on our behalf under written agreements that limit how they may use the information.
• Authorities or other parties when required by law, valid legal process, or to protect the safety of any person.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral or targeted advertising.

How long we keep it

We keep contact-form submissions for up to 24 months after our last contact with you, and then delete them — unless a longer period is required to meet a legal obligation, resolve a dispute, or enforce our agreements. You can ask us to delete your information sooner at any time. If you become a resident, program-related records are governed by our separate resident records practices rather than this policy.

Your privacy rights

Under the Iowa Consumer Data Protection Act (Iowa Code chapter 715D), Iowa residents may, subject to the law’s limits and exceptions:

• confirm whether we are processing your personal data and access that data;
• delete personal data you have provided to us;
• obtain a portable copy of the personal data you provided, where technically feasible; and
• opt out of the sale of personal data.

As described above, we do not sell personal information or use it for targeted advertising, so those opt-outs do not currently apply.

To make a request, contact us at privacy@northstarsoberliving.com . We may need to verify your identity before acting. We will respond without undue delay and within 90 days of receipt; if we decline, you may appeal by replying to our decision, and we will respond to the appeal within 60 days. If we deny the appeal, you may submit a complaint to the Iowa Attorney General.

Children

This site is intended for adults aged 18 and older. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has provided us information through this site, contact us and we will delete it.

Security

This site is served over HTTPS. Contact form submissions are validated on the server, sanitized, and forwarded to our intake system over an authenticated connection, and their contents are not written to application logs. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so please consider what information you choose to include in your message.

This site may link to websites we do not operate. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites, and we encourage you to review their policies.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the effective date above and, where appropriate, by providing additional notice.
